you should have your dryer and the vent cleaned atleast once a year. your dryer will dry clothes faster,mo energy efficient and lower your risk of a dangerous dryer fire that can burn down your house. dryer fires are real and the number one cause of 15,000 house fires across the nation last year. i am a local seguin tx area dryer cleaner. i clean the entire system not just the dryer. first thing we do is disconnect and move the dryer out of the way. next we clean the entire duct from where the dryer connects to where it ends outside. the last thing we do is clean all the lint oout of the dryer and re-install it. wipe the dryer clean inside and out and test to make sure it's getting good airflow. only 40% of lint is stopped by the dryer. the rest goes into the dryer and the duct and eventually clog it up. a clogged dryer builds up heat. all it takes is a spark from the electric motor to catch the lint in the dryer and duct on fire nad you have a major house fire. cleaning your dryer and the duct only takes about 30-45 minutes and we can work around your schedule up to 11pm at night or on weekends
